Hello, it’s Me

Wow. It’s been so long since I last posted that I feel like we need to get reacquired.

I’m Mel, a working Mom, Mother of a 9 month old and a former blogger/baker/cook. My little Man now sleeps through the night, shares all his colds with me (how sweet of him, right?) and is an outgoing, vivacious and did I mention CRAWLING, little boy. The Husband had really stepped up to the plate and helps with meal-time, the bed-time routine and loves his mini-me.

Of course this wouldn’t be a proper post without a few pictures. :)

Alright, maybe that was a bit more than a few pictures but who doesn’t love cute baby photos?

So there you have it. This is what I’ve been up to lately and hopefully we’ll catch up again soon!

Yours Truly,

Mel

A Farewell Thank You

How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.

-Carol Sobieski and Thomas Meehan, Annie

To everyone who stopped by to visit with us and to all of those who wish me the very best on my next endeavor, Thank you. Thank you for making Fox And A Parasol something so very special to me.

Your warm reception at my first flea market and your loyal support of my little shop throughout our 3 year run meant the world to me. All of you are the reason that I kept going and without you I would have stopped a long time ago. They say when one door closes another one opens and that’s exactly what I plan to do.

Yours Truly,

Mel

The Beginning

The Beginning

Ever since Krys and I went with another friend of ours, Holly, to high tea in the City we’ve been obsessed with tea and anything tea related. Hats, gloves, cups & saucers, dresses, cake plates, decorations, you name it, we want it. That’s why, on a dreary March afternoon Fox and A Parasol was born.

It’s conception happened while we were on our way home from a successful thrifting adventure at the famed White Elephant Rummage Sale (more on this later) during a brainstorming session. We wanted to make a blog name that was fun and catchy; something memorable. We tossed around all sort of ideas but the moment we picked, “fox” and paired it with, “parasol” we know we had it. What better exemplifies timeless ladylike elegance than a parasol? It’s not an umbrella… that’s too generic, but a lace and fabric concoction or pure class. Of course, the brown and white adorable Victorian era fox I pictured in my head just seemed to top it all off and so there we had it, Fox and A Parasol.

So today begins our journey through crafting, baking, decorating, party hosting and of course, our drink of choice, tea! We hope you’ll join us and enjoy our adventures!

Yours Truly,

Mel
