Rosemary Gardens Neighborhood Yard Sale & Outrageous Outgrowns

This weekend there are two events happening that I’ve been looking forward to for months; the Rosemary Gardens Neighborhood Yard Sale and Outrageous Outgrowns.

For the last few weeks I’ve been in full on thrift mode; which I’m going to blame on my need to nest and have been stock piling clothes all the way to 3T for little Baby Rocky from all of our local Savers and Goodwills. With these two sales I’m not looking for anything in particular and I’m hoping that strategy pays off in the form of awesome deals on things I didn’t know I HAD to have.

If you’re interested in either of these events check out the links (above) for more information and HERE is a parking voucher for Outrageous Outgrowns that cuts the cost down from $8/car to $3/car. I’ve never been but it’s at the Santa Clara Fairgrounds on Friday, 4/10 Saturday, 4/11 and Sunday, 4/12 (Everything is 1/2 Price) from 9AM – 5PM.

Happy Hunting my fellow thrifters!

Yours Truly,

The Harvest Festival – San Mateo, CA

This year I’m trying to be extra good and get a jump on my christmas gift shopping and when I heard about the Harvest Festival at the San Mateo Event Center, I knew this was my sign. The Festival starts, today 11/14 and runs until Sunday, 11/16 and it’s hours are 10AM – 6PM (Friday and Saturday) and 10AM – 5PM on Sunday.

I’ve never been to the Harvest Festival but their website says that it’s,

“24,000 handmade American art & crafts in hundreds of booths, all day entertainment, and kids activity center. [The] Harvest Festival features hundreds of artisans exhibiting American handmade items including beautiful jewelry, clothing, specialty foods, photography, original art, hand-turned wood, music, ceramics and much more.

Enjoy three fun-packed days of shopping, stage and strolling entertainment, and festival food all for the price of one ticket. Remember to get your hand stamped to return as many times as you want without paying again.”

Tickets range from $4.00 for Youth (13 – 17), $7.00 for Seniors (62+) and $9.00 for General Admission and for 3 days, that’s not too shabby.  Plus if you bring a nonperishable food item with you to donate to Loaves and Fish you can get $2 off a Senior or General Admission. If you’re free this weekend and have a few hours to burn it not be a bad way to spend your afternoon.

Ipsy – July Sunsational Sunkissed Glam Bags

A while ago (so long ago that I actually didn’t remember doing it), I signed up for Ipsy. It’s a once/month beauty product subscription that it sent to you through the mail so that you can try out new products. It’s pretty inexpensive at only $10/month and you get 5 products that are tailored to you but to receive them you need to be a subscriber.

It was quite the surprise to check my e-mail the other day and find one titled, “Order Confirmation: Monthly Glam Bag Subscription.” At first I was stumped and couldn’t remember what this was but apparently I signed up in February 2014 and they were just now able to add me. Before I even got the package I figured that I would cancel it after this month because really, I never wear any make-up but already I’m liking it.

In fact I’m actually wearing the Pixi Tinted Brilliant Balm ($14) they sent me right now in Pretty Pink.

If you’re curious about Ipsy, here’s what I got for July in their “Sunsationally Sunkissed” Bag.

1.) 5-in-1 BB Advanced Performance Cream Eyeshadow Broad Spectrum SPF 15 by bareMinerals ($18)

2.) Hang Ten Dark Tanning Oil SPF 08 ($11.99)

3.) Pixi Beauty Mini Tinted Brilliance Balm - Pretty Pink ($14)

4.) Pop Beauty Sunkissed Bronzer -Radiant Sand ($10)

5.) Soy Renewal Beach Spray Conditioning and Texturizing Spray ($19.95)

If you like what you see and A) like to get things in the mail and B) want to pamper yourself for only a Tenner + tax once a month check it out HERE.

Renegade Craft Fair – San Francisco, CA

I’ve never been, so I really can’t say what it’ll be like but the Renegade Craft Fair at the Fort Mason Center Pavilion in San Francisco, CA this weekend (Sat., 7/19 & Sun., 7/20 from 11am – 6pm) look pretty sweet.

With over hundreds of craft booth, workshops, food, music and a FREE Photo booth it sounds like a great way to spend a few hours this weekend.

If anyone goes, let me know how it is.

Jessica McClintock the Store, Is No More

Just the other day I commented on how Jessica McClintock was no longer in Valley Faire and now I know why. After 40+ years and the changing prom scene Jessica McClintock has quietly closed it’s doors.

I know most high school girls have never heard of this brand but to me and my Sisters wearing Jessica McClintock was the epitome of high school prom. There were the treks to their outlet store in San Francisco and years of pouring through their catalogs in hopes that someday we’d get to wear one of these gorgeous creations.

Now gowns are too formal for proms and girls don’t want yards of fabric & fluff and this is why designers like Jessica McClintock have fallen by the wayside.

Farewell old friend, I’m sad to see you go.

Yours Truly,

Thank You

To Everyone who came to the Sip, Snack and Shop Event at The Limited in Valley Fair I wanted to say thank you.

There’s lots of time and love that’s invested in baking for an Event regardless of its size and it means a lot that to me that each and every one of you came out to support me.

A baker can receive no greater compliment than to come home with empty boxes and I’m so very glad that everything that we made was well received.

It’s always great to spend time with friends and I’m glad the Event was a success!

Until the next one.

Yours Truly,

Introducing…the CreusAid

The best/worst April Fool’s Prank in a while, the CreusAid.

The Kitchn totally had me going until I read this.

If you’re just like me and you’re silently crying because you really wanted one don’t fret, KitchenAid is releasing  new colorful Ceramic Stand Mixer Bowls in June 2014 for $79.99. I little pricey but they’re so gorgeous!

See, not all pranks end badly.

Yours Truly,

Sip, Snack and Shop Event at The Limited in Valley Fair

For those of you that don’t know, I’m obsessed with The Limited. I’ve posted a few of their sales here on the blog and since I’m such a regular I’ve been asked to co-host an event that I’m calling the Sip, Snack & Shop Event.

It’s open to anyone and if you like clothes, baked goods or just want to come to browse and chit chat that’s totally okay! I’ll be making up a few tasty treats for snacking and there’s going to be a raffle drawing with gift cards and even little goodies bags for anyone who attends.

The Event is at The Limited in Valley Fair on Thursday, 4/3/2014 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm.

If this sounds like something you’d enjoy spending a few hours at let me know. Or if you want to bring a friend (or two) go ahead, the more the merrier, just let me know so that I can add your names to the RSVP List.

Yours Truly,
